Mark Wilcox is a native of the sun-washed environs of Northern California, where he still lives, works, and finds inspiration. His early education in the visual arts came from an almost fanatical obsession with the great Golden Age book illustrators. He sidestepped art school for an English degree and curiously, a seven-year odyssey in Kyoto, Japan, where he developed a love for the minimalist aesthetic and a talent for drawing satirical illustrations for the Kyoto Journal.
